Updated August 2026. The 30 percent rate on this page was correct and remains so. Added the terms that decide whether it is usable: the two hundred and fifty dollar cap per use, the monthly redemption limits, the 31 December 2026 expiry and the full exclusion list, none of which this article previously carried. Removed unsourced competitor rates for Nike, Under Armour and Reebok, and removed a worked example that used a 20 percent figure inconsistent with the 30 percent stated elsewhere on the page.
Adidas gives teachers 30 percent off full-price items, verified through ID.me. Adidas states it in its own words: "Calling all Teachers! We thank you for all that you do and are offering a 30% off discount when verified with ID.Me." Eligibility covers classroom teachers, principals, school employees and college professors.
Three terms decide whether that 30 percent is worth anything on a given purchase, and adidas publishes all three. The discount applies to full-price items only. It is capped at two hundred and fifty dollars per use. And it excludes a named list of silhouettes that includes Samba, Gazelle, Campus, Superstar, Stan Smith and select Ultraboost, which are among the shoes people most want.
Key takeaways
- The rate is 30 percent off full-price items, online and in store, verified through ID.me. At adidas factory outlets the teacher rate is 15 percent.
- The discount is capped at two hundred and fifty dollars per use and, per ID.me's storefront terms, is valid through 31 December 2026.
- Redemptions are limited by channel: a maximum of two discounts per month online, and one per month in store and at factory outlets.
- The exclusion list is long and specific, covering select Gazelle, Samba, Campus, Stan Smith, Superstar, Ultraboost, adizero and Spezial, plus 4D, select Y-3, Pharrell, Disney, Human Made, limited edition Originals, select NMD, Final Sale products, gift cards and Confirmed app purchases.
- The public sale currently runs to 40 percent off, and the teacher discount does not apply to sale items, so on any item appearing in both the sale is the better route.
- adiClub is free and separate, with four levels, and it applies where the teacher discount does not.
Does adidas give teachers a discount?
Yes, 30 percent off full-price items. Adidas runs it through its Discount Programs page alongside verified offers for military, first responders, nurses, medical providers, hospital employees and people aged sixty-five and over, all at the same 30 percent and all verified through ID.me.
Eligibility for the teacher programme covers classroom teachers, principals, school employees and college professors. That is broader than most retailer teacher discounts, which typically require a classroom teaching role, and it means school administrative and support staff qualify.
Verification runs through ID.me rather than SheerID, UNiDAYS or an in-store identification check. Adidas maintains a dedicated teacher landing page and ID.me hosts the adidas storefront where the terms and the cap appear.
What are the caps, limits and expiry?
The discount is capped at two hundred and fifty dollars per use, according to the terms on ID.me's adidas storefront, which also gives a validity date of 31 December 2026. On a pair of trainers that cap never binds; on a larger order it does, and it converts the headline 30 percent into a smaller effective rate.
Redemption frequency is limited by channel. Adidas publishes a maximum of two discounts per month online, one per month in store, and one per month at factory outlets. A teacher planning several purchases needs to spread them, and needs to decide which channel to spend each month's allowance in.
The factory outlet rate is lower. Outlet redemption is 15 percent rather than 30, which means using a monthly allowance at an outlet costs you the same slot for half the benefit. That figure is not stated on adidas's own Discount Programs page, which mentions only the monthly limit, and comes instead from employer benefit listings including the New York City Department of Education, so it is attributed rather than quoted from adidas.
What is excluded from the adidas teacher discount?
Full-price items only, and then a named list on top. Adidas publishes the exclusions as: select Gazelle, select Samba, Campus, SL 72, select Spezial, 4D, select Ultraboost, select Y-3, Pharrell, Disney, Human Made, limited edition Originals, select NMD, select Stan Smith, select Superstar, select adizero, Final Sale products, gift cards and purchases on the Confirmed app. Adidas adds that the offer is not valid on prior purchases and is not for resale.
Read that against what people buy. Samba, Gazelle, Campus, Superstar and Stan Smith are the brand's best-known silhouettes, and every one of them appears on the exclusion list. On those, the teacher discount is worth nothing at all.
Figure 1. Where the adidas teacher discount is worth using, from adidas.com/us/discount-programs and the ID.me adidas storefront, 31 August 2026. The teacher discount is full-price only, so it cannot be combined with the public sale, and it does not apply to the excluded silhouettes at all.
When does the public sale beat the teacher discount?
Whenever the item appears in both. Adidas's current public sale runs to 40 percent off, open to everyone with no verification, and the teacher discount is full-price only and cannot be applied to Final Sale products. Those are mutually exclusive routes, not stacking ones.
The decision is therefore item by item. On a full-price item not on the exclusion list, the teacher discount at 30 percent wins. On anything in the sale, or on an excluded silhouette, the public sale is the only route and it may be worth more.
This is the practical question a teacher actually faces at the checkout, and it is the one most pages about this discount do not answer, because they stop at the headline rate.
What is adiClub, and does it stack?
adiClub is adidas's free membership programme, with four levels set by points earned: Level 1 from zero to 999, Level 2 from 1,000 to 2,999, Level 3 from 3,000 to 8,999 and Level 4 above 9,000. Adidas states that "it's free to join."
Benefits rise with level and include free shipping, members-only products, priority access, premium event tickets and priority customer service. Adidas does not itemise which benefit unlocks at which level on its own page, so this article does not list them level by level.
The value of adiClub for a teacher is that it applies where the teacher discount does not. It works on sale items and on excluded silhouettes, it costs nothing, and it keeps accruing regardless of whether the ID.me verification is current.
Is adidas the best teacher discount available?
It is the largest verified national one as of 31 August 2026, at 30 percent, but largest is not the same as most useful. Michaels gives 15 percent across the entire purchase including sale items, with far fewer exclusions, which makes it better for classroom supplies. Target runs 20 percent through Target Circle.
An earlier version of this article compared adidas with Nike at 10 to 20 percent, Under Armour at 20 percent and Reebok at around 30 percent. None of those figures carried a source and all have been removed. Our Walmart teacher discount guide sets out why several retailers commonly listed in such comparisons run no teacher discount at all, and the Hobby Lobby teacher discount guide covers a case where the discount goes to the school rather than the teacher.
The full teacher discounts guide covers the cluster. If you are also enrolled in study, the adidas student discount runs separately at 30 percent through UNiDAYS, and the two cannot be combined.
Frequently asked questions
How much is the adidas teacher discount?
Thirty percent off full-price items, online and in store, verified through ID.me. At adidas factory outlets the teacher rate is 15 percent. The discount is capped at two hundred and fifty dollars per use and, per ID.me's terms, runs to 31 December 2026.
Does the adidas teacher discount work on Samba or Gazelle?
No. Select Gazelle, select Samba, Campus, SL 72, select Spezial, select Stan Smith, select Superstar, select Ultraboost and select adizero all appear on the published exclusion list, along with 4D, Pharrell, Y-3, Disney and Human Made. On those the public sale is the only route.
Can the adidas teacher discount be used on sale items?
No. The discount is full-price only and Final Sale products are explicitly excluded. Adidas's public sale currently runs to 40 percent off, so on any item in the sale the public price is the better and the only option.
How often can a teacher use the adidas discount?
A maximum of two discounts per month online, one per month in store and one per month at factory outlets. Because the outlet rate is 15 percent rather than 30, spending a monthly allowance at an outlet gives up half the benefit for the same slot.
Who qualifies for the adidas teacher discount?
Classroom teachers, principals, school employees and college professors, verified through ID.me. That is broader than most retailer teacher programmes and includes school administrative and support staff, not only those with a teaching role.
Do retired teachers qualify?
Adidas's published eligibility names current roles rather than retired ones, and ID.me verification is based on current employment. Retired teachers should verify through ID.me directly rather than assume eligibility, since adidas does not address retirement either way in its published terms.
