Updated August 2026. Removed four statistics that could not be traced to any named source: that roughly 60 percent of students who shop online bought from ASOS in the past year, that students save one hundred and fifty to two hundred pounds a year, that ASOS works with more than 150 universities and colleges, and a Trustpilot rating. Removed pound figures aimed at a United States readership and replaced British and Irish source links with the United States equivalents. Added ASOS's own verification route, the monthly spending cap, the full exclusion list and United States delivery terms.
ASOS gives students 10 percent off, all year round, and the discount holds until you graduate. The route most guides miss is that ASOS verifies students itself, through a form on its own site, rather than requiring UNiDAYS or Student Beans. You enter your name, student email address, country of enrolment and graduation year, and ASOS emails a code to the student address.
UNiDAYS and Student Beans both carry the same 10 percent as an alternative route. Neither is required, and ASOS's own page is the one ranking first for this query, which makes it the fastest path.
Key takeaways
- The rate is 10 percent, year round, valid until graduation. ASOS's own wording is "10% off all year round" and "It's valid till you graduate."
- ASOS verifies students in house. No UNiDAYS or Student Beans account is required, although both carry the same offer if you already have one.
- Eligibility starts at sixteen and covers full-time and part-time study "including apprenticeships and high schools", which is broader than most student discounts.
- There is a monthly cap. ASOS limits the discount to a maximum pre-discount spend of five hundred pounds, or the local currency equivalent, per calendar month.
- ASOS still ships to the United States, with standard delivery free over seventy-five dollars and express at fourteen dollars ninety-nine.
- ASOS Premier costs nineteen dollars ninety-nine a year in the United States and cannot be bought with the student discount.
What is the ASOS student discount?
Ten percent off, available year round rather than in seasonal windows, and valid for as long as you remain a student. ASOS states on its own student page: "10% off all year round" and "get a unique student discount code! The best part? It's valid till you graduate."
That "all year round" wording is the part that distinguishes it. Many retailers in this category run seasonal events, so a student has to wait for a window. ASOS does not, and the code persists rather than expiring after a single use.
The discount applies to the order value before delivery charges. It is not a "up to 10 percent" tiered offer, despite how it is often written: the rate is flat.
How do you verify as a student with ASOS?
Through ASOS's own form, which is the route this article previously omitted. Go to the ASOS student validation page, enter your name, your student email address, the country you study in, your graduation year and the email address registered to your ASOS account. ASOS then replies: "We've just sent a verification email to your student email address!"
No third-party platform is involved in that route. ASOS does not use SheerID or ID.me for student verification, and it does not require a UNiDAYS or Student Beans membership.
Both platforms do carry the offer as an alternative. UNiDAYS United States shows a live 10 percent, and so does Student Beans United States. If you already hold an account with either, that route works. If you do not, creating one is an unnecessary step.
Who qualifies for the ASOS student discount?
Anyone aged sixteen or over in full-time or part-time study, which ASOS's own terms extend to include "apprenticeships and high schools". That is materially broader than most student discounts in this category, and it is the second thing worth knowing about this offer.
Compare it with adidas, whose student discount is limited to current college and university students and recent graduates, with high school students excluded. ASOS covers a group that adidas does not.
The discount is non-transferable and tied to the ASOS account it was verified against. The code is personal, so sharing it does not work.
What are the exclusions and the cap?
The cap is the term most likely to catch a student out. ASOS limits the discount to "a maximum pre-discount spend of £500 (or the equivalent in your local currency) per calendar month". On ordinary orders that never binds; on a seasonal wardrobe refresh it does.
The exclusions are delivery charges, gift vouchers, ASOS Premier, ASOS Marketplace, and products sold by ASOS Brand Partners. ASOS also notes that "selected marked products exclusions may apply", flagged with a blue tag on the product page, so the exclusion is visible before you add an item to the basket.
Note what is not excluded. Unlike the adidas student discount, which is full-price only and excludes a long list of named silhouettes, ASOS's exclusions are structural rather than product-specific. That makes 10 percent at ASOS more broadly usable than a larger headline rate elsewhere.
Is the ASOS student discount different in the United Kingdom?
No, not in the headline rate. Both markets are 10 percent. The only asymmetry is that the United Kingdom offer, as listed on UNiDAYS, explicitly covers sale items as well as full price.
Figure 1. Student discount rates verified on each brand's own pages and on UNiDAYS United States and United Kingdom, 31 August 2026. ASOS is the case where the two markets match; adidas gives United States students double the British rate; lululemon has no United States programme at all.
That is worth saying because market confusion is the most common failure in this category. Our guide to the lululemon student discount covers a case where a British 10 percent was published to a United States readership as though it applied there, when lululemon runs no United States student discount at all. ASOS is not that case: the number travels correctly.
An earlier version of this article did carry British artefacts, quoting savings in pounds to a United States readership and linking to British and Irish source pages. Those have been replaced with the United States equivalents.
Does ASOS still deliver to the United States?
Yes. ASOS lists standard delivery to the United States at ten dollars, free on orders over seventy-five dollars, arriving in five to seven business days. Express delivery is fourteen dollars ninety-nine in two to three business days. Alaska, Hawaii and military addresses take up to twenty days, and click and collect is not available.
ASOS's own student terms list the United States among the markets where the discount is valid, alongside the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Australia, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Austria, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Denmark, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands and Ireland.
ASOS Premier is the separate shipping arrangement, at nineteen dollars ninety-nine a year in the United States, giving free standard shipping on orders over twenty dollars and free express shipping over fifty dollars for qualifying mainland addresses. Premier is on the exclusion list, so it cannot be bought with the student discount.
Do student discounts actually change where students shop?
The best-sourced figure available comes from a Student Beans survey conducted in April 2024, which found that 95 percent of students look for discounts in the fashion sector, ahead of food and drink at 90 percent, entertainment at 73 percent, beauty and travel at 65 percent each, technology and mobile at 63 percent and health and fitness at 51 percent.
Two caveats belong with it. The survey is of United Kingdom students, so it describes British behaviour rather than American, and no sample size is published. It is cited here because it is named and dated, which is more than can be said for the figures it replaces.
An earlier version of this article carried four statistics that could not be traced to any original study: a claim that roughly 60 percent of students who shop online had bought from ASOS in the past year, a claim that students save one hundred and fifty to two hundred pounds a year, a claim that ASOS works with more than 150 universities and colleges, and a Trustpilot rating. All four have been removed rather than re-sourced, because no source for them exists.
What should a student actually do?
Verify on ASOS directly rather than through a platform, because it is the fastest route and requires no third-party account. Do it before filling a basket, not at the checkout.
Watch the monthly cap if you are buying a season's worth at once. Five hundred pounds equivalent of pre-discount spend per calendar month is generous for a single order and restrictive for a bulk one, so splitting a large purchase across two months preserves the full benefit.
Check for the blue tag before adding an item. Marked exclusions are shown on the product page, which means you can see whether the discount will apply before you commit.
Consider Premier separately if you order often. At nineteen dollars ninety-nine a year against ten dollars per standard delivery under the seventy-five dollar threshold, it pays for itself in two orders, and it is a different question from the discount. Our full student discounts guide applies the same arithmetic to the rest of the category.
Frequently asked questions
How much is the ASOS student discount?
Ten percent, year round, valid until you graduate. It applies to the order value before delivery charges, and it is a flat rate rather than a tiered "up to" offer. The United Kingdom rate is the same, and the British listing additionally covers sale items.
Do I need UNiDAYS to get the ASOS student discount?
No. ASOS verifies students itself, through a form on its own site requiring your name, student email address, country of study and graduation year. UNiDAYS and Student Beans carry the same 10 percent as alternative routes if you already hold an account.
Can high school students get the ASOS student discount?
Yes. ASOS's terms set eligibility at age sixteen and over, in full-time or part-time study, and explicitly include apprenticeships and high schools. That is broader than adidas, which restricts its student discount to college and university students.
Is there a limit on the ASOS student discount?
Yes. ASOS caps the discount at a maximum pre-discount spend of five hundred pounds, or the local currency equivalent, per calendar month. Delivery charges, gift vouchers, ASOS Premier, ASOS Marketplace and Brand Partner products are also excluded.
Does ASOS still ship to the United States?
Yes. Standard delivery is ten dollars and free over seventy-five dollars, taking five to seven business days. Express is fourteen dollars ninety-nine in two to three days. The United States is listed among the markets where the student discount is valid.
What is ASOS Premier and is it worth it?
A delivery subscription at nineteen dollars ninety-nine a year in the United States, giving free standard shipping over twenty dollars and free express over fifty dollars. It cannot be purchased with the student discount, and it pays for itself in roughly two orders that would otherwise fall under the free-shipping threshold.
