About the book

Meeting the new leadership standard.

Every leader who refuses to compromise between people and performance should read Higher Ambition. Choosing between the two may have worked in the past, but it will not work anymore. Leaders must succeed on all fronts, including with their people, customers, communities, and shareholders, as global competition heats up and businesses confront more public scrutiny and renewed government regulation. They must, in a nutshell, provide better economic and societal value. Higher Ambition provides leaders with the practical insights they need to fulfil this new and higher standard, brimming with riveting anecdotes and wise counsel from CEOs themselves. The authors, a global team of experts from top business schools and consultancies, provide a unique insight into the thoughts of some of the world's most successful and intelligent leaders:

CEOs from cutting-edge businesses around the world who have showed a unique ability to do good while doing well. Standard Chartered Bank, Infosys, Volvo, Cummins, IKEA, the Tata Group, and Campbell's Soup are among the companies represented. Readers will discover the strategies and techniques that these trailblazing leaders employ to:

  • Create long-lasting businesses that serve both people and profits.
  • Create winning plans that take advantage of their company's unique culture and people resources.
  • Raise their people's goals and ambitions dramatically.
  • Energise and align their worldwide businesses
  • Continually improve leadership competencies across their businesses.
